Due to the Significant development in the hyperspectral senors, the range of the application areas are expanding as the universe. Hyperspectral sensors are initially developed for the identification oil spills. Then it moved to the earth observation applications (remote sensing applications as target detection, discrimination between similar groups of objects etc.,). Due to its advantages, it has been used in precision agriculture. In the next few years there has been many proposal for new hyperspectral imaging satellites by leading space organizations (NASA, Italy, European Space Commission). So we can expect the lot free HSI datas over internet. Since it is main disadvantage in these area ( No enough of data set for research).
Now, the automobile and mechanical industry also added an new dimension of the hyperspectral imaging. The hypspectral imaging is used in inspection of the materials (quality analysis,..). It also used as tool in the inspections of the quality of fruits in the markets. In these areas we can expect lot development in next few decades.

Introduction to Hyperspectral Remote sensing
Hyerspectral remote sensing provides a potential in remote discrimination between the ground objects in the hundreds of the bands. It provides unique features for the different species of the same class. By Hyperspectral Image (HSI) it is possible to identify the interested target in the image. HSI is captured in the 0.4-2.5 micro meter of electromagentic spectrum. Though HSI provides the fime spectral resolution in 10 nm, it creates the challenge in processing the HSI for the applications. One of the important preprocessing step is to reduce the number of the bands or to find the new low dimension space such that the information embedded in the HSI high dimensional space is summarized in the low dimension space. One of the challenging task is how to find the exact low dimensional space and the number of bands required to capture the information in HSI.
